The Coreso’s engineers base these analyses on the data that are updated each day and submitted by the system operators, e.g. generation schedules, international electricity flows and unavailability of power stations and grid components.
In this way, they assess the security of the grids, simulate various scenarios, such as the sudden unavailability of an interconnecting line, and then anticipate the measures that need to be taken to master the consequences.
These analyses, together with the proposed measures, are submitted to the TSOs’ national control centres which assume operational responsibility for secure operation of their respective grids.
The 24/7 activity allows Coreso engineers to perform additional security analysis close to real time and to provide support to TSOs in case of particular event on the grid.
Furthermore, in order to prepare the regional market coupling in 2010, Coreso takes part in the experimentation group, performing and publishing each day merged files representing a two-days ahead forecast for CWE area (Belgium, France, Germany Luxembourg and The Netherlands). |
