Your Internship in Coreso

Coreso SA, located in Brussels, is looking for an intern. You will work in our Pan-European services team as an Intern working on Regional Short-Term Adequacy (STA) assessment.
Short-Term Adequacy assessment is one of the five main services of RSCs. Its importance can be easily underlined using a simple explanation that for power generation to be adequate, the installed generation capacity available at operational level must always be higher than the consumption served. For TSOs it is crucial to have an early assessment of the adequacy, i.e. whether the regional generation capacity is able to cover the consumption needs, or if for certain timestamps a certain probability of inadequacy is perceived. Results of such assessment should not only be timely made available, but also reported in the concise manner, so that TSOs can efficiently prepare for mitigation of the inadequacy risks.

Let’s give you a preview of your future mission!

Being an intern at the Development Department in collaboration with Regional Process WG and experts from the Project Group STA, and with guidance from Project Engineers working on Pan-European services you will:

  • Become familiar with the documentation containing main principles for the development of tools:
    • ENTSO-E Coordinated Week Ahead Adequacy Assessment (Short Term Assessment) Methodology, and;
    • corresponding Business Process document.
  • Improve the tool developed to merge the adequacy template files from the TSOs and support the Regional process. (existing prototype tool, and the principles guiding its development can be used as a basis)
  • Develop a new “Regional STA” reporting tool.

Depending on the dynamics of achieving milestones set in the above described tasks, the scope could be extended to the following related activities, subject to further discussion:

  • Work with Regional WP on the design of improved Test-cases
  • Present new functionalities of the tool to the operators and support them in the training for the tool

The above tasks are not exhaustive and could be adapted during the internship.

The internship will start as soon as possible for a period between 3 to 6 months.
