As an intern, you will work on creating and updating communication media of Coreso SA. Tasks include: Analysis on today’s visual identity of Coreso, development of new communication tools: booklet or mini guidebook to describe the company and its activities (text writing + layout), modern PowerPoint to present the company (text writing + layout), design of relevant pictures for the company (like maps for instance) and creation of roll-ups

About Coreso

The mission of Coreso is to proactively support Transmission System Operators to ensure Security of Electricity Supply in Europe. Located in Brussels, about fifty engineers, seconded from their companies, combine their expertise 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anticipate the operation both in the short term and the long term, from a year ahead until Intraday (few hours before real time)

Founded in 2008, Coreso encompasses nine European operators, which are also its shareholders (Elia in Belgium, Eirgrid in Ireland, 50hertz in Germany, National Grid in the UK, REE in Spain, REN in Portugal, RTE in France, SONI in Northern Ireland, Terna in Italy).

Within the European context of progressing market mechanisms, continuous growth of renewable energy, ambitious grid development and further harmonization, new coordination challenges are numerous. Coreso aims to build up, together with all partners, the adequate coordinated operational processes to cope with these game changers. To secure operation of the European electricity system represents a truly international challenge.

Description

As an intern at the Communication department you will work on creating and updating communication media of Coreso SA. The intern will work closely with the Communication Manager. Tasks include: Analysis on today’s visual identity of Coreso, development of new communication tools: booklet or mini guidebook to describe the company and its activities (text writing + layout), modern PowerPoint to present the company (text writing + layout), design of relevant pictures for the company (like maps for instance), proposals for new graphical charter or logos and creation of roll-ups.

Content

Internal communication

  • Write articles for the intranet.
  • Copy editing
  • Assist with special events
  • Draw up and implement a communication plan in close cooperation with the team.
  • Take photos for internal communications.

External communication

  • Assist in writing press releases
  • Assist in developing social media content (LinkedIn)
  • Prepare impact reports
  • Put together a press review for all internal staff
  • Follow social media and think up content

Prerequisites

Ideal candidate is an undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student in public relations, marketing, communications, digital communication for business development. Ideal candidates will be detail oriented, organized and creative and possess a professional work ethic and be enthusiastic to gain new knowledge.

Communication skills:

  • Language: French and/or English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented with strong written, verbal & organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in social media & Microsoft Office
  • The ability to work independently and with others
  • Dependability, flexibility, and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Openness to learning and growing within the internship experience

Conditions

The intern will enjoy an international experience while developing professional skills with concrete tasks. This internship will allow the student to bring their classroom knowledge into a professional work setting and broaden their knowledge through hands-on application in a nonprofit environment.
