After years of hard work and preparation CWE Flow-Based Market Coupling went live successfully. On 19th May the operational process including the Flow-Based capacity calculation did start for the first delivery day on 21st May.
First trading day using Flow-Based parameters for coupling was 20th May.
The implementation of Flow-Based Market Coupling follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the Pentalateral Energy Forum (PLEF) in Central West Europe (CWE), which was signed on 6 June 2007.
The MoU aims to improve security of supply and foster the analysis, design and implementation of Flow-Based Market Coupling between the five countries of the CWE region.
CORESO is a basic element in the operation process by providing the merged grid models, coordinating Remedial Actions and operating the Flow-Based Common System in inter-RSCI cooperation.
Already during the extensive preparation CORESO provided valuable assistance and additionally performed Flow-Based capacity calculation in a parallel run parallel. CORESO keeps on working in different level on varying subjects to further stabilize and improve the process.
Many thanks to all colleagues for their professionalism and for their support helping that CWE project has achieved complete readiness!
