On 1 December 2024, CorNet, the co-operation programme between Coreso & TSCNET, reached an important milestone: the CGM, the first operational task on the RCC Service Platform, went live!
The CGM, also known as the Common Grid Model, represents the European electricity network and was developed by merging TSO Individual Grid Models (IGMs) using the common European Merging Function (EMF). By enabling operational coordination, this go-live will contribute to ensuring the security of electricity supply on a European level.
The CGM supports RCC processes through the following stages:
The CorNet programme, which began in October 2021, brings together considerable capabilities and expertise from the whole European energy sector, including not only RCCs, but also TSOs and Service Providers.
Together with TSCNET, we are responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the RCC Service Platform, based on the latest principles of task-based design: standardisation, automation, open platforms, standard interfacing, reusable building blocks and process orchestration.
In doing so, CorNet plans to continue finding synergies, optimising costs and sharing expert know-how in order to implement the EU Network Codes in the most timely, cost-efficient and effective manner.
“We’re beyond proud of our CorNet team members who worked on this programme, both at Coreso and TSCNET. They have contributed to ensuring high standards and building a robust and innovative software platform.” - Jan Van Roost & Flavio Allella, CEO & COO Coreso, Dieter Weiß & Uwe Zimmermann, Managing Directors TSCNET
“We want to thank all team members who worked extremely hard on this innovative programme. We have created not only a great product but also reinforced the strong collaboration and teamwork between Coreso and TSCNET.” – Amine Abada & Matt Evans, CorNet Programme Managers Coreso & TSCNET
