Coreso celebrates its 5th birthday on 16 February 2014

16 February 2014

On 4 November 2006, 15 million Europeans found themselves without electricity following a lack of coordination between TSOs in the Central Western Europe (CWE) area. This event marked the start of the discussion between the European Commission and TSOs with a view to achieving a level of coordination that would guarantee security of supply in Europe. The talks led to the creation of Coreso on 16 February 2009, the first European electricity coordination centre.
